We had almost 500 entries for our Milestone Competition in January, celebrating 10 years at Pensthorpe Natural Park. The 10 winners were delighted with their prizes from Creative Chiro and Pensthorpe. Lots of you also commented on the photo we used of the Practice building back when it was five Estate Workers’ cottages. Patient Stories
When we were looking back at the move from Holt to Pensthorpe, we were curious to see which of our patients attended the Practice on our first days here. Two of them, Mark and Rita have shared their patient stories and their Chiropractor, Michael reflects on their treatment progress below.
Mark
Mark founded Beeston Brewery in 2006 in a renovated farm building overlooking Beeston church. He produces craft beers using local ingredients and sustainable brewing methods. His work is very hands on, with heavy lifting on a daily basis. Mark has been a patient since December 2013. He attended the Practice on our second day at Pensthorpe for his quarterly maintenance appointment.
“Mark first came to Creative Chiro suffering on/off mid and low back pain due to an accident 30 years previously. He had a heavy parachute landing and was blown backwards causing him to drastically compensate his position in an attempt to avoid injury. The heavy lifting he does results in spinal loading, which if left untreated can cause irritation to a level that affects his ability to work.” - Michael (chiropractor)
“I first used Creative Chiro for a back injury that other approaches had failed to improve. I now find that a combination of deep massage and chiropractic adjustment gives me the best, lasting results. I like their holistic approach of immediate treatment, with advice on the likely cause and the best recovery strategy. Rita
“When Rita was running her Bed & Breakfast, she regularly hosted the Thursford Christmas Spectacular cast members, who would be with her for the whole of the show’s run. So where other B&B owners might slow down in those Winter months, there was no respite for Rita. Over the years, she would regularly come to see me having tweaked her back again. Repeated injury to the same area often leaves patients vulnerable to problems in that area. So, even though Rita is now retired, she still attends for regular maintenance care of her low back, to ensure she remains fit enough to enjoy her retirement with her husband, Keith.” - Michael (chiropractor)
“My journey with Creative started in 2013 when they were practicing at Lees yard in Holt. I was in agony after a walking accident. From the initial phone call and my cry for help I was seen quickly and efficiently by Michael. Like them, I was so excited when they moved to their new bright and beautifully designed premises at Pensthorpe and I think I was probably one of the first patients to encounter the 'New Look Creative' - I have had many treatments over the years (the joys of running a B & B) and nothing has ever been too much trouble. 2026 has brought us another reason to celebrate!
For the fourth time in a row, we have been awarded the prestigious Patient Partnership Quality Merit (PPQM) by the Royal College of Chiropractors. The PPQM recognises excellence in meeting patient expectations. It was recognised that we have demonstrated high standards across all areas of patient care and submitted a large body of supporting evidence to demonstrate this. We were delighted to receive the confirmation letter in time to include it in our Team photo!
‘Lunch & Learn’ in the pipeline
We always have a great response to the articles our Practitioners write for our Sunday Reads (published on our website HERE). In addition to these articles, we are developing something new – a series of 30-minute educational lunchtime webinars entitled ‘Lunch & Learn’. The sessions will be presented by one of our Chiropractors, each exploring a different health topic, and conclude with a Q&A section at the end.
